Summer 2014 - It's in the Books!

A tremendous first summer season for Coach Chadwin Basketball Academy! We visited 9 camps in total, 2 day camp programs, and 7 residential camps. Traveled up and down the east coast from Maine and through Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The instructional program at each camp was designed to meet the specific needs of each individual camp program and their expectations. Camp Mataponi, Camp Matoaka - The Official Camp of Summer, Morashà, Pine Forest Camp Wilkes-Barre JCC, Camp Dora Golding, Liberty Lake Day Camp, Camp Canadensis, Camp Tioga. We thank you with heartfelt gratitude and appreciate your confidence in CCBA to get this new age idea of #campsforcamps going strong. Let's keep it rolling for summer 2015! First staff training

It's amazing how much can be learned when you have a willing audience with terrific interaction. We kicked off the summer of 2014 with a fantastic day in the poconos. We are looking forward to two more days this week in Maine.

Playoffs!

It is hard not to be drawn to TV's best reality programing these days... the NBA playoffs!  I have really enjoyed watching the two conference final series and am hoping to see each series go the full 7 games.

Young players can really learn a lot from watching how these teams compete and execute with attention to detail.  Coaches of all four teams are so good at keeping their sets simple, but with some great reads.  I have included one below from the Miami Heat (credit Fast Model.)  Spacing, angles, and timing are the keys to great offense.

Welcome to the emergence of our Basketball Academy.  It is with great enthusiasm that we launch this tool to communicate information to our CCBA community.  From our "Camps for Camps" program to our local basketball camps, we look forward to continuous growth on, and off, of the court!

Great circuit workouts

I am fortunate to be surrounded by innovative people who care very much about the continuous evolution of their professions.  I rely on these friends to push my professional growth.  We often enjoy exercising in groups during the summer and trying different workouts.  Thanks to my good friend Remi Falquet, we never have a shortage of challenges during our group workouts.  Checkout this workout "Spartacus 2.0" that we have been working on this summer.  For more sport specific workouts take a look at Alan Stein's Stronger Team site.  Best of luck!

Enthusiasm

Often the most important fuel for setting our vehicle in motion is enthusiasm. It's really hard to get the most out of yourself if you "play it cool." While watching a 16 year old basketball game today, I constantly saw the team with smiles, energy, and enjoyment - outplaying the other team who simply looked disinterested. Talent was pretty even in this game, but enthusiasm was the "edge." Vision and purpose... do you have it?
